Housing and Application Notes
The FS36401 is a cartridge element, not a complete spin-on filter. It is used inside a compatible filter housing, so the housing on your truck decides whether it fits. Cross-reference data lists it for:
- PACCAR MX-13 engines
- Cummins ISX engines
- Peterbilt and Kenworth trucks with 2010-emission engines
Later model year trucks (2017 and newer) may use updated filter part numbers. Fit depends on the engine, housing and model year, so send us the OE number from your old element if you are not sure.
FS36401 Cross Reference / Replacement Numbers
The FS36401 fuel water separator is a cross reference to the following part numbers:
| Brand / Source | Part Number |
|---|---|
| Fleetguard | FS36401 |
| PACCAR | K37-1004 (K371004) / K371005 |
| Baldwin | PF9928 |
| Donaldson | P557004 |
| WIX | WF10249 |
| NAPA | 600249 |

OE and aftermarket part numbers are listed for reference only. All brand names belong to their respective owners, and IXIN is not affiliated with them. Always confirm fit against your housing and engine before ordering.
Why a Fuel Water Separator Matters
Water and dirt in diesel fuel can damage injectors and high-pressure fuel pumps. A fuel water separator removes free water and fine contaminants before the fuel reaches the engine. Regular replacement helps prevent hard starting, power loss and costly injector repairs, especially on long-haul trucks that refuel from different sources.
Why Choose IXIN’s FS36401 Fuel Water Separator
- Factory-Direct Supply: IXIN manufactures filters in its own factory in Linxi County, Hebei. You deal with the manufacturer, not a trading company.
- Wide Cross-Brand Coverage: One FS36401 fuel water separator replaces PACCAR, Baldwin, Donaldson and WIX references, which helps distributors simplify inventory.
- Cartridge Design: Replacing only the cartridge keeps service simple, and the housing can stay on the truck.
- Customization Available: We support customization of filter paper quality, metal thickness and packaging for your market.
- Fast Delivery: In-stock items usually ship in 5 to 10 days. Made-to-order items take 15 to 45 days, depending on quantity.
To avoid cross-reference mistakes, read our fuel filter cross reference guide before placing a bulk order.
Installation and Maintenance Notes
- Switch off the engine and let it cool. Close the fuel shutoff valve if fitted.
- Place a drain pan under the housing, and drain the water from the separator if a drain is fitted.
- Open the housing according to the manufacturer’s instructions, and remove the old cartridge element.
- Clean the inside of the housing and check the gasket and seals. Replace worn seals.
- Install the new FS36401 fuel water separator cartridge, making sure it seats correctly in the housing.
- Close the housing and prime the fuel system according to the engine manual.
- Start the engine, check for leaks, and replace the filter at the interval recommended by the engine maker. Replace sooner when using poor-quality fuel.
